Prodisee PantryA Community Food Pantry
Open Tuesdays
9 to 11:30 am
Located in The Gathering Place in Prodisee Center at the corner of Highways 31 & 98 in Spanish Fort. Click here to go to the pantry website.
Prodisee Pantry provides food assistance to Baldwin County families facing financial hardships stemming from job losses, medical expenses or other crisis. Food from Prodisee Pantry will be given to anyone in need. Volunteers also refer clients to other organizations that may be helpful to them during their time of difficulty.
Each client's situation or need is evaluated on an individual basis. A Drivers License or other photo id and Social Security Numbers on all family members are required. Clients are asked to supply basic information about income and expenses as required by our application process.
Prodisee Pantry obtains its food from donations from Spanish Fort United Methodist Church members as well as other local churches, area schools, scout groups and local businesses. Financial donations are accepted and used to purchase food from Bay Area Food Bank and United States Department of Agriculture.
10,000 families made up of some 28,000 individuals have received assistance from the pantry since it opened on November 18, 2003.
For emergency food assistance or for more information, call 626-1720 or 626-1334 and ask for Prodisee Pantry.
In response to Hurricane Katrina, Spanish Fort United Methodist Church and Prodisee Pantry distributed more than 16,000 emergency food boxes and other relief supplies valued at more than $20 million to devastated areas along the Gulf Coast. The Pantry continues to see a huge increase in the number of families seeking emergency food assistance. Recovery and rebuilding are ongoing as the 2008 Hurricance Season is approaching. This year Prodisee Pantry and SFUMC are continuing to be pro-active. Emergency food boxes are on site, ready for use by caring, compassionate first responders. If you'd like to sign up to help with relief efforts should the need arise this year, please contact Deann Servos at 626-1334.
